ASSOC. PROF. DR. SITY DAUD
Sity Daud is the Chair, School of History, Politics & Strategic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She obtained her B.A. (Hons.) in Politics from Flinders University of South Australia, and MSc. in Politics from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, United Kingdom. With a PhD in Development Science from UKM, she later attended an advanced program known as Advanced Certificate in Development Economics at University of Cambridge, UK. She has over 20 years teaching and research experience in political economy with colleagues and graduate students at UKM, together with some academic attachment abroad especially at University of British Columbia, Monash University, and University of Cambridge. Her broad research interests include developmentalist states, social safety nets and elections. She has published numerous books and articles on the theme of international political economy. Among others are books on Social Science and Development Studies; Human Security and Peace In Archipelagic Southeast Asia; Human Security and Peace In Asia Pacific; Politics and Security; Democracy, Leadership and Security and numerous articles on state intervention, human security, leadership, social safety nets and elections.
