PROFESSOR DATO' DR. RASHILA HAJI RAMLI
Rashila Ramli is Director, Principle Fellow and Professor of Political Science at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Her areas of specialization include Political Development with an emphasis on Gender and Politics, and International Politics focusing on Global Governance. Her current research is on Social Rights, Social Justice and Social Policies (funded by DAAD), and Promoting Social Inclusion through Public Policies (funded by UNESCO). Some selected publications are: “The Multiple Roles of Rural Women during the 1999 Election: The Case of FELDA J8,” in Francis Loh Kok Wah dan Johan Saravanamuttu, eds., New Politics in Malaysia (Singapore: ISEAS, 2003); “Social Constructivism and Malaysia’s International Relations,” Akademika, Vol. 8, No. 1 (2011), pp. 39-51 (with Nor Azizan Idris and Zarina Othman); and Human Security in Archipelagic Southeast Asia (Bangi: Penerbit UKM, 2015) (with Sity Daud and Zarina Othman). Her involvement within civil society consists of the following: President of the Malaysian Social Science Association (PSSM), the Assistant Secretary General of the National Council of Women’s Organization (NCWO), and Regional Council member of the APWLD from 2012-2017.
